Since the table is arguably the most important piece of furniture in the space, it can be tempting to choose something that will make a statement. But rather than choosing an ornate design, we recommend keeping the table neutral so that it will remain timeless despite passing trends.
It’s not easy to design a space that feels fit for a celebration, yet is still functional for day-to-day living. After all, there’s no sense in having a room in your home that rarely gets used, right?
Choose a round pedestal table and armless dining chairs to visually enhance a space. Keep the focus off your diminutive quarters and draw attention to unique details in a small dining room. Use a sugary palette of pale pastels to keep the subtle colour even across a compact room. Make your dining area the star of the show by painting a circular design on the wall to define a zone.
It’s interesting to try new things. Sometimes traditional ideas about living room decor aren’t the best solution for a small space. Instead of using blinds for window treatments, use long, flowing drapes because they draw attention to vertical space, thus expanding the area of the room.
